Featured Blogger: Eirin Kristiansen

Eirin kristiansen, 21 y/o from Norway. Check out her blog HERE.

If you are from Norway, you probably know this girl already! Her face has become well known in Norway after she was a part of a Norwegian TV-show a few years ago called ‘Bloggerne’. Since then she has been interviewed on TV several times, and she recently came out with her own book (still need to get my hands on an exemplar..). But if you are from somewhere else in this world, her name might not be familiar to you..

Eirin is a fashion and lifestyle blogger from a little city in Norway called Bergen. Even though Bergen is known for being one of the cities in Norway with the most rain, Eirin’s pictures are always so bright and inspiring – how she does it is still a mystery.. I started following Eirin’s blog in 2013 when she had just started her blog. Back then she focused more on health and exercise, but over the years she slightly shifted focus. Her blog has changed a lot since then, and it’s so fun to see how far she have come! She always deliver good quality content and she is one of the most committed bloggers I have ever stumbled across. Eirin is the perfect example that you can turn your dreams into reality if you work hard enough!

Every Monday I’m featuring one fashion, lifestyle or travel blogger. If you are interested in being featured, please leave a comment with a link to your blog so I can check it out!

Beauty Weekly Tips

Tip of the Week

I know this post is a few days late, but hey – it’s here now! Today I want to share with you one of my absolute favourite products – Eco Tan Invisible Tan.

Even though I’m currently living in sunny Australia, I’m not always as tan as I like to.. So that’s when this product becomes handy! A lot of you have probably tried some kind of self-tanner before, and I’m pretty confident we all have had some kind of bad (read: orange) experience with it as well, unfortunately..

With Eco Tan Invisible Tan, you can build up your tan gradually if you don’t have a lot of color underneath, or you can boost your tan if you already got one! It gives your skin such a radiant glow without turning you into a carrot, and it’s so easy to get an even result.

Another great thing about this product is that you can use it on your face. Since I have been struggling a lot with acne before, I’m always super careful with what I put on to my skin. The last thing I want is to irritate my skin and get heaps of breakouts! I also love the fact that it’s 100% free from toxic chemicals, as well as it’s organic, vegan and cruelty free. I couldn’t ask for more!

Beauty Videos

Today is Tuesday, which means that I have filmed a new video for you! Today’s video is a little makeup tutorial where I show you how to get a sun-kissed look, plus how I do my eyeshadow if I want to add some drama. I love this look and it’s typically how I do my makeup if I’m going out.

By the way, in this tutorial I’m using my all time favorite eyeshadow – ‘Ginger Snap’ from H&M. It’s a orange/copper color – which I absolutely adore! It’s also 100% vegan and cruelty free. So if you are in the same situation as me, and you are trying to switch out all of your non-vegan and non-cruelty free products, this eyeshadow is a great option!

Featured Blogger: Marielle Osnes

Every Monday I’m featuring a fashion, lifestyle or travel blogger. If you are interested
in being featured, leave a comment down below with a link to your blog.

Marielle Osnes, Norway. Check out her blog HERE.

This week’s featured blogger is Marielle Osnes. Marielle writes mostly about fashion, but she also share her travels and some DIY, which I think is super fun to read! Surprisingly enough, she hasn’t been blogging for more than a few months. I know it might be hard to believe because her blog is better than many! But I think that prove that she probably put a lot of time and effort into what she is doing!

I always find so much inspiration on Marielle’s blog. Not just in terms of fashion, but also photography. Marielle obviously knows how to make a photograph interesting – non of her pictures look the same, and I think that is one of the most important factor of becoming a successful blogger!

Even though Marielle is from Norway, she writes her blog in English – so there is no need to worry if you don’t know how to read Norwegian!

This is a little bit embarrassing to say, but I’m actually staring to look forward to colder weather! I feel like wearing jeans and jackets again.. Today, I did a little attempt to dress how I have been wanting for so long. It was way too warm and I didn’t even get to put on the jacket. Not even once. At least I got to shoot some outfit pictures, so I think it was worth it. Even though I got slightly overheated.. Oh well, I’m still alive!

By the way, who else is obsessed with chokers? I have been wearing it a lot lately and it makes wish that I had more than two types of them.. I think it looks so chick and it really lift your outfit! A choker is such an easy way to add some edge. Go for a ponytail or a messy bun, and you are ready to go!

Every Monday I’m featuring a fashion, lifestyle or travel blogger. If you are interested
in being featured, leave a comment down below with a link to your blog.

This week I’m featuring Marie Wolla from Norway. Check out her blog HERE.

I’m always looking for new inspiration sources and Marie’s blog is one of the newest additions to my inspiration list. I stumbled over her blog a few months ago and I have to say that I’m impressed with everything she has achieved since then! She was recently flown to New York by Maybelline to attend New York Fashion Week. If that isn’t impressive, I don’t know what is.. Marie is a true example that you can turn your dreams into reality if you are dedicated and work hard.

If you are interested in fashion I can guarantee you that you will enjoy reading Marie’s blog! Her blog is a good mix of outfits, lifestyle tips and travel diaries, so I don’t think you will ever get bored. Another plus is that she writes in both English and Norwegian.

If you take a look at her blog, comment on one of her posts that I sent you! xx

Tip of the Week

‘Tip of the Week’ is a new column that I will be posting once a week.
I will tip about everything from makeup hacks to book tips. Enjoy!

These days, I feel like most people already know how important it is to apply a good primer before you put on your makeup. I have tried many different products, some good and some bad. One thing they all had in common though was the price. I find that most of them can be a little bit expensive. Therefore I’m so glad I found about this little beauty hack that will save you a lot of money!

It was when I was watching one of Shani Grimmond’s makeup tutorials that I found about this little beauty secret. Instead of applying a regular primer underneath your makeup, use ‘Nivea Replenishing Post Shave Balm’. I was attempted to try it after Shani, who is a makeup guru with over 600 000 followers on YouTube said that she swore by it. I have used it under my makeup for about a month now and I have to agree with her – it is simply the best “primer” I have ever tried! The best part is that it cost about $10 AUD and that it last for MONTHS! You can buy it at both Woolworths and Coles, and I would think that they sell it at Priceline Pharmacy as well.

I’m on YouTube!

For a long time, I have wanted to create a YouTube-channel with focus on beauty and fashion related topics. Makeup and fashion is something I have always been passionate about and I love to create videos. Therefore I have been thinking, why not combine these interests?

Today, I finally turned my thoughts into actions and created the channel I have been wanting for so long. I also managed to create my first makeup tutorial (even though it wasn’t easy..). This video is the first of many to come in my ‘How To’ series where I will be sharing quick and easy makeup tips and tricks that I have learned throughout the years.

I really hope that you enjoy the video and if you have any requested videos for the future, leave a comment and I will look into it!

A Guide to the Gold Coast

If you want to get the best of both worlds, Gold Coast is the perfect get away! This city is not called the “Gold Coast” for no reason. Here we have everything from endless white beaches, skyscrapers, pulsing nightlife and beautiful nature – everything within walking distance.

In my opinion, the Gold coast is a necessary stop if you are travelling to Australia. Never have I ever seen sand as white and fine as here! They are actually shipping sand from here to Hawaii, which I think says a lot about how beautiful the beaches here are!

I have put together a little Gold Coast guide, just in case you are planning to come here anytime soon. Enjoy!

Burleigh Heads National Park

What to see and do

Burleigh Heads National Park/Tallebudgera Creek – Make sure to stop by Burleigh Heads and check out the national park. There is some AMAZING lookouts there, that you simply cannot miss! You also get the perfect view of Tallebudgera Creek, which has to be my favourite beach here on the Gold Coast.

Q1 – You should definitely make sure to take a trip to the top of Australia’s tallest building while you are here! It is located right next to the beach and it has a 360 degrees view with a classy bar in the middle. I recommended buying a cocktail or two while soaking up the amazing view!

Surfers Paradise – Are you a first time visitor? Then you should definitely stop by Surfers Paradise! Surfers is very touristy, so you might go crazy if you stay there for a longer period of time, but it’s something special about the atmosphere that you have to experience.

The Spit – This is probably one of my favourite beaches. It is a permanent sand spit that separates the Southport Broadwater from the Pacific Ocean.  If you want, you can take a walk on the pier to the lighthouse. It is not uncommon to see both turtles, dolphins and whales there. I have to say it is a “off lease” beach, so be prepared if you are afraid of dogs!

Main Beach – Do you want to spend a day at the beach while you are here? If the answer is YES – go to Main Beach! This area is not as busy as Surfers or Broadbeach, but the beach is still gorgeous! This is also where a lot of suffers prefer to surf, so maybe you get to see a handsome surfer or two.

Killarney Glen – The Gold Coast has more to offer than just beaches. Rent a car and go explore the hidden gem of Beechmont. Killarney Glen is a heart shaped rock pool hidden in the woods and it is a must-see!

Snappers Rock – This is a famous surf break down in Coolangatta and you are guaranteed to spot some handsome surfers if you take the trip.

Shopping – Who had thought that a beach town like the Gold coast also offer some great shopping opportunities? You can find everything from high-end designers like Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Gucci and others in Surfers Paradise, small boutiques in Burleigh Heads, or big shopping centres in Broadbeach and Robina. The GC has something for everyone!

The Greenhouse Factory

Where to eat

The Greenhouse Factory, Miami – Are you after a fancy vegan dinner with wine and cocktails? Then this is the place to go! They recently moved their restaurant from Coolangatta to Miami and upgraded their menu. Now they serve everything you can think of from the sea, vegan cheeses and so much more.

The Cardamonpod, Broadbeach – If you are after breakfast, this is the restaurant for you! They are famous for serving delicious vegan waffles and pancakes. YUM!

Govindas, Surfers Paradise – This restaurant is located in the middle of surfers Paradise and they have the best vegan Indian buffet! It is also very inexpensive, which always is good! You can eat as much as you want for $14. I think that is a pretty damn good deal!

Burleigh Farmers Marked – Every Saturday from 6am until 12pm, the farmers marked is on in Burleigh Heads. It is located at the Burleigh Heads High School and you can buy everything from freshly squeezed cane sugar juice to dumplings. This is also the place to go iff you want some fresh fruits and veggies.

Where to go out

Broadbeach – There is so many clubs located in this area, but one of my favourites is ‘LOVE’. It is classy, inexpensive, good music and a good vibe.

Surfers Paradise – If you want to go out on the Gold Coast, this is the place 99.9% of the clubs are located. If you are after something very “clubby” I would recommend ‘The Bedroom’, ‘Cocktails’, ‘Shooters’ and ‘Sin-City’. If you are after something a little bit more “chill”, ‘Elsewhere’, ‘Beergarden’ or ‘Waxys’ is the place to go.

Where to stay

The Gold Coast is full of different places to stay. You can find everything from hostels, camping, hotels, resorts and RBNB’s. What to choose really depends on your budget, and what you want. I would probably recommend renting an apartment in a resort. It is not that expensive and you usually get more than if you rent a room in a hotel.
